Designing & Managing Sterilization Systems

A well-designed sterilization area improves your clinical efficiency and is a visible reassurance to patients that you practice the highest level of infection control for their safety and well being during orthodontic treatment.

Whether you are building a new practice, remodeling an existing space, or simply implementing the use of cassettes into your practice, Andrea can assist you in making equipment decisions and ensure a smooth transition for you and your team.

All sterilization consulting services are customized to fit your needs, but normally orthodontists will choose one of the following options.

For an existing practice wishing to achieve the highest level of infection control and implement the use of cassettes into their practice most orthodontists choose from the following two options:

Sterilization Area Review & Consultation:

1. Sterilization area review plus equipment recommendations and cassette and instrument calculations:

  • Assist you and your team in selecting the number and size of cassettes you will need

  • Calculate the number of instruments you many need to purchase after the instrument inventory and audit

  • Recommend the ultrasonic cleaner, sterilizer, and all other equipment for the size cassettes you have chosen and the volume of patients you see daily

  • Improve efficiency by working with your cabinet maker on the design and layout of the sterilization and clinical areas

2. Complete Sterilization Project:

  • Area Review

  • Cassettes, instruments and equipment recommendations

  • Everything in 1 plus two days of in-office “go-live” coaching that includes loading cassettes with instruments, color coding instruments to patient chairs, cassette wrapping instructions or pouches, sterilization equipment maintenance and team training with the new system

  • “For your protection…” photos and text for your website and office brochure on your sterilization system

For orthodontists planning on building or remodeling an existing space most will choose one of three options:

Sterilization Design Consultation:

1. Plan Review: review your design plans and cabinet drawings, then schedule a 30 minute telephone appointment with you to go over the recommendations.

2. Plan review plus equipment recommendations and cassette/tray set-ups & instrument calculations:

  • Assist you and your team in selecting the number and size of cassettes you will need

  • Calculate the number of instruments you many need to purchase after the instrument inventory and audit

  • Recommend the ultrasonic cleaner, sterilizer, and all other equipment for the size cassettes you have chosen and the volume of patients you see daily

  • Improve efficiency by working with your cabinet maker on the design and layout of the sterilization and clinical areas

3. Complete sterilization project:

  • Plans, cassettes or tray set ups, instruments and equipment recommendations.

  • Everything in 1 & 2 plus 2 days of in-office “go-live” coaching that includes loading cassettes with instruments, color coding instruments to patient chairs, cassette wrapping instructions or pouches, sterilization equipment maintenance and team training with the new system.

  • “For your protection…” photos and text for your website and office brochure on your sterilization system.
